This online complete Positive Handling course for those working with Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults is priced for 12 delegates. It comprises of the Positive Handling and De-escalation theory session plus Safer Holding, Handling, Essential Physical Intervention & Disengagement Skills.
This is the alternative option to all the aspects of our face to face, in person Safer Handling course.
This Legal Briefing theory session covers all of the legalities surrounding physical intervention on one easy to navigate platform and comproses of a presentation by Doug Melia, media clips and 35 multiple-choice questions.
The physical skills session comprising of video tutorials of easy to remember, low level physical interventions which are appropriate yet effective. All of our training is accredited, the techniques medically reviewed and manual handling risk assessed. Enabling staff to consider the holding, handling & escorting of their individual specific needs relevant to their workplace and service users. We take into consideration the size of your service users and the associated risks, your environment, any transport considerations, seated holds, breakaways and situations where staff may be left alone with a young person or vulnerable adult.
You will upload your demonstration videos to be assessed.
Positive Handling & Physical Intervention (for 12)
The course includes one year unlimited user access to our online resources & media clips.
At the end of the course you are invited to submit questions from delegates about scenarios, potential risks or challenges you face. Doug will then provide a personalised presentation addressing these which you can keep.
Duration 6 hours.
All successful delegates will receive a certificate.
We accept it is not ideal for these physical skills to be taught via distance learning but whilst we are all in lockdown it will assist staff who need to be upskilled now in order to effectively carry out their job. You do have the option of waiting until lockdown restrictions are lifted to have the physical session at you school/organisation. This will include some travel expenses.
